Dude, it is over. Sigh. The GOP is going to hand our car keys to Putin. We now have to organize a resistance.

As an American, I feel responsible for the harm we will cause to so many in our nation, to democratic nations around the world, and to the planet itself.

And as a British citizen, I feel ashamed of the sycophantic words of congratulation sent by our Prime Minister Keir Starmer this morning. "We stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise"?? Good grief!

Keith Olbermann will do a full podcast about this tomorrow. In his preview he said we MUST treat this as an Act of War ... and I agree. I will call The White House in the morning and use social media to demand Joe Biden take action against this attack. Sadly, I do not think the America of today is like the America that was attacked by the Japanese in 1941. I do not think we have what it takes to respond as if this was an assault by our greatest enemy... an enemy with the added element of being FRIENDS WITH DONALD TRUMP. I hope I am wrong. I hope Joe Biden is up to the challenge... and that Kamala Harris is as well. Reporting is she will not address the American people until sometime on Wednesday. I pray that the core message she delivers is: "Russia interfered with our election. We MUST fight back!" .... and then Joe Biden and she will say what they are going to do.

Steve, well said! 100%!

I agree with you but doubt seriously that anything will be done about it. Biden is afraid of "provoking" Putin.

Ashamed to be an American.

I don't think the implications of the threats were noted, much less assimilated.

I am entering Ukraine shortly to volunteer. I am honored and humbled to be here.

I am also disgusted, outraged, and heartbroken that the US as a whole was not able to see through the trump-Vance BS.

The orange blob asked "Are you listening, Russia?" They were involved long before and he knew it. They can't eliminate all of us before the next mid-terms. The 100 day machine we have created must be kept moving. Tom Cleaver of TCinLA posted Thomas Paine a few minutes ago.

We are near the shore of the Delaware. It is cold.

To awaken this morning and see the U.S. map with so many “red” states is sickening. That so many people would vote for this depraved man is unconscionable.

Add to that the Russian bomb threats, which I read about earlier on Joyce Vance’s Substack, and the people who were denied their vote, in fear of their lives. Yes, they must have a chance to vote. How did we get here? There is still a slim chance VP Harris can win. I’m holding out hope.

I m thinking now about Ukraine, Taiwan, South Korea, and Israel. Turkey could take Kurdistan. Who will stop the aforementioned if not the US?

I was reading just the other day about Putin asking Musk to turn off the Star-link satellites over Taiwan, as a favor to Xi. The guy who holds a security clearance to launch DoD payloads also has a solid-doing relationship with America's adversary. So much for contracting out.

I read about the bombs planted on DHL Planes by supposedly GRU in Germany and Poland, some planes bound for the US and Canada. It raises the hysteria stateside, even if just a hoax. Terrorism is a tool to be managed. And now it can be used to influence an American Presidential election.

Remember Chechnya and the Apartment Bombing the spurred Russian invasion. And the Reichtag Fire, 1933.

Once True flies out the window, the facts are but levers of manipulation and cascading control.

Do not doubt the lure of corruption. We are experiencing it in Real Time!

I want a plan to address the interference. We can “do bad all by ourselves,” obviously. But as sad as I feel, and as hard as it is to listen to this drivel from WPB this morning, I am really concerned for countries who rely upon us (and have a right to do so) - and the fact that we do need to move quickly with an investigation of Musk as well. Thanks for checking in.

Maybe they start with a hotline, as others head to court, for all those who left the polls or decided they could not go as a result of threats.

I'm in Oregon and in a bit of shock at the moment. I keep trying to think of the 'what ifs' and 'why didn't they' and just wish the Dems had had a plan starting in 2016 to cultivate a fresh contender, but they didn't and look what happened. It is possible that we will have many years of this horrible situation, unless there is an overnight miracle. Either way, we have to get to work. Stay strong and fight for our freedoms.

What would’ve happened if Biden had withdrawn in the fall of 2023 and allowed a real primary process to choose a strong Democratic candidate. Harris turned out to be a good candidate, but how much better might she have been with the additional year to get to know voters and be known by them? I don’t want to put too much blame on Biden, but I think history will record that his inability to step back was a huge mistake. - WAPO

It’s going to be a restless night. I’m thinking about endless show trials prosecuted by Jim Jordan upon political rivals. Blackmailing of foreign and domestic leaders. Endless grifting. Project 2025. Shut down the dept of education, the EPA gone. RFK Jr head of HHS and CDC. Brain drain. Tariffs inflation, deportations lead to economic collapse. Oligarchy. Peter Theil in charge of ceremonial elections. Yeah, we are going to need an underground resistance.

Russia has interfered 3 times in the last three elections. Trump has interfered 3 times in the last three elections. We’ve had this information for years. Trump was convicted of ELECTION INTERFERENCE not just hush money. Harris was blamed for a border bill Trump killed as he needed to run on this and for Putin’s help because said bill had funding for Ukraine, the economy he left Biden with after a dormant two years he handed out corporate welfare and then failed on Covid leaving the economy a mess, but that stimulus check was signed by him…it was taxpayer dollars…and a war that has had consequences for several presidents that Harris was yet another admin that supported Isreal, and the best, to date, option for land was under Clinton and YA walked away with no counter. This is American hatred for themselves through Trump and get to blame someone like migrants or accept his rape conviction and ELECTION INTERFERENCE conviction for his own fraud claims. To keep himself out of going to trial. It’s Enough. We knew, have known, his own admin wrote a 1000 page report on their interference in 16, if ya can’t swallow Barr lying about the Mueller report, so as Democrats we needed to do something sooner. Musk has security clearance and contracts with our taxpayer dollars and hands a million bucks to vote for Trump and runs X. It’s a national security threat and conflict of interest that should have been shut down at “Trump and Musk have had several contacts with Putin about WTF knows”. Let the low income low info voters love him so much they haven’t read his economic agenda to know they just gave him their union jobs, retirement, taxes, and freedom. We’re now 1990’s Russia and Putin didn’t need to go to war with us as we just destroyed ourselves for him. And throw Xi in the mix who owns TikTok, sideways, and an investor of that mess provided Trump his tax fraud bail money. No, folks, this time around none of us are snowflakes but we’re too GD complacent and I’m fed the F up. No way bro calling people’s mothers trash, poison, lazy, deadbeat birthers and gets this win. No fkn way. GD stupid American people who don’t understand what they have done.

We must face some hard truths in the coming days. I’m interested in hearing what mental health experts say about Trump’s win. Americans had a clear choice even with all the far right media propaganda. Trump showed America exactly who he is. We cannot blame Harris or her campaign or the Democratic Party. They gave it their all. I think misogyny played a bigger role in Harris’s defeat than we expected. It was baked into the Trump campaign and deserves to be examined in depth. It was orchestrated from the top. It is one of those hard truths we must face. Others will become clearer as we go forward.
