I’ve been sad and angry as Republicans in Congress blocked further aid to Ukraine. Thank you for this initiative that enables me to help in some small way rather than just rage against the evils in the world. Donated.

My exact feelings. I am happy to help in this small way.

I'm in--again! I'm happy to chip in my small amount, to make Ukraine safer for my friends and colleagues (and ultimately, to keep my loved ones and me here safer as well). I will be volunteering in Ukraine in February. I finally, and happily, found a helpful way to put my skills to use there! I am using my upcoming trip to raise awareness and engagement among my friends and colleagues.

Thank you for all you do, Dr. Snyder!

Cameron, speaking after talks with Colonna in Paris, said that if the economies of Ukraine's Western partners are calculated together, “we outmatch the Russian economy by 25 to one or more.”

“What we have to do is make that economic strength and that commitment pay,” he said. “If we can, I have no doubt that we can make sure that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin loses and it's essential that he does lose.” United we stand 🇪🇺

Donated & Shared.

“Thank you for donating!

Today, the whole free world is united around Ukraine. Countries, companies, international organizations, and most importantly — people. Now you, too, are among them. Thank you!

Your donation has been sent to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and will be allocated within 24 hours to assigned ministries.

Ukraine fights not only for its freedom but for the freedom of the whole democratic world.

Only together do we have the potential to stop the war that Russia has started. To rebuild what Russia has destroyed. Together we can help freedom defeat tyranny.

We will never forget your contribution to the victory of Ukraine! To the victory of freedom!”

It's interesting, Graham, how the Republican Party used to be against Russia when it was socialist and now they're pro Russia when it's fascist.

I don't think the MAGA Republicans think that much. They are pro Russia because tRumfp is pro Russia They are following him like lemmings blind or uncaring of the cliff in their future.

Thanks, Graham. That actually makes more sense because it does require less thinking.

I am delighted. In for the next round, too. Done my part, same amount as last time, I'm thrilled by the results of the previous campaign. We are definitely acting faster than our politicians and governments, but that's exactly the idea, I suppose.

Thank you so much for extending this fabulous program. I've seen it work on the videos provided by Ukraine and how well Ukrainians use their various tools and skills. You give me the ability to neither be angry nor fearful for Ukraine, but to be strong and relentless.

Thank you for this update on meeting the original goal. I donated to Safe Skies again yesterday and will donate monthly for as long as it takes to defeat Putin and rebuild Ukraine. I will also support the loss of elections by Putin supporting Republicans in any way I can.

Thank you for this message. I was wondering how we can help at this point.

I'm not sure if my contribution registered, since I didn't get any further code for final verification. If not, let me know.

Thanks for all you do for Ukraine.

Thank you Professor Snyder--donated what I could, and I share the frustration and anxiety that others have shared here with our Congress. May sanity overcome the madness.

Donated. Thank you Dr. Snyder for your leadership, for your great class on Ukraine and the fascinating (if often depressing because of the human toll they record) books you’ve penned on Eastern Europe.

Not that it’s at all relevant to this thread, but my favorite book of yours is: “The Red Prince: The Secret Lives of a Habsburg Archduke”. A short read and well written. Even has a Ukrainian angle.

Just got it for holiday reading.

I did get to Red Prince between cataract ops. so the spoken text, free on UTube, which I stumbled across was much appreciated. In

his Ukrainian history course Pr. Snyder spoke about how people move between cultures and languages. Rarely with the grandeur of these two Habsburg archdukes. This was an interesting top-down version of the phenomenon. Theorists who were invested in saving the monarchy imaged a triple reform

to an Austro-Slavo-Hungarian monarchy. With Croatia and Slovakia in Hungary and Ukraine, Checkia, Polish Galicia and Slovenia in Austria the repartitioning would have been difficult and it never got to that for our princes.

Agreed. Also an attempt by the Hapsburgs to jump from imperialism to nationalism. A hard transition that monarchies have failed to do (and retain real power).

AJP Taylor called Tito the last Habsburg. He did have real power. Pushing that to absurdity the last Habsburg was Richard Holbrooke, the high maintenance, large-living American diplomat who godfathered the Dayton accord for Bosnia-Hercegovina, which just entered active negotiations to join the EU together with Ukraine.

Many thanks to Mr. Timothy Snyder for his help!! Ukrainians see and appreciate his incredible contribution as a scientist, publicist and intellectual in order for truth and law to prevail. Your voice has been loud since 2014, when most of the world's intellectuals were silent, and your almost daily against russian propaganda posts shed light on the beginning of the war. Thank you!

I give monthly to United 24. I find the app clunky and hard to use. It limits me to three choices for amounts, 50, 100 or $150 and often stutters when it takes my credit card. I know this is beyond your control, but a little attention to marketing on their end would help.

Just above the area where the app suggests donating $50, $100 or $150, there is a $ area where you can type in the amount you wish to donate.

If it’s any help, Apple Pay on iOS devices works very smoothly. Though I share your view if you want money, make it easy :)

Congratulations, Prof. Snyder! Yes, please keep Safe Skies going! I'm a retiree on a monthly budget, and cannot make large single donations. But I can (and do) make small recurring donations.

An option after donating to United24 if the budget allows: Using ActBlue to support Democrats who are running against the Republican fifth column of Putin lackeys.

A bright new flag of Ukraine adorns my front yard. The one that I placed there in March 2022 finally wore out. The holiday season of new birth and hope seemed like a good time for the replacement.
