In the Midwest, Pre-Election, On Freedom
(Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois, then Oklahoma and Texas)
I’m here in my home state often, including every fourth October. I try to do the little things that I can do, as I am sure you are doing as well.
I have seven presentations of my book On Freedom in Ohio, starting tomorrow (October 17th) in Cincinnati, at wonderful venues: independent bookstores, college campuses, and a beautiful old theater that looms large in my childhood and which I still find impressive today. I appreciate the welcome. You should please feel welcome too!
In seventh grade I had to do an “Ohio tour,” in which I described an imaginary visit to every county. I am not quite managing that this time, thought I will drive through a couple dozen of them to make the the seven Ohio stops.
I’ll be happy to see you.
Ohio 1. Cincinnati, Thursday October 17th, 7:00pm.
A discussion and q&a about On Freedom with book sales at 7:00pm at the independent bookstore Joseph-Beth, 2682 Madison Rd. in Cincinnati.

A discussion and q&a about On Freedom with books at 12:00 at the Havighurst Center, 350 Western College Drive, Miami University, Oxford.
Ohio 3. Wilmington, Friday October 18th, 7:00pm.
I am particularly happy about this discussion of On Freedom. Wilmington is the county seat of Clinton County, the setting of some important scenes in the book. The beautiful Murphy Theater was built by Chicago Cubs owner and Wilmington native Charles Murphy in 1916-1918. The event is a ticketed benefit for Merefa, Ukraine, which is Wilmington's sister city. Books will be sold and proceeds will also benefit Merefa.

I LOVE your On Freedom book. My sister sent me the illustrated On Tyranny too and I had to put down On Freedom to read that. I will take back with the second half of On Freedom soon. I posted about On Freedom on my FB feed. And I learned of my friends’ parents knew your parents for years from Quaker gatherings…small world I say!
Anyway, let us know when you are in Europe. I am happy to report that the American Library of Paris has both these books of yours (and likely others). I had mentioned your books to one of my American friends here who later told me he took them out of the library that same afternoon! There are so many truly powerful messages in them - I am still digesting and getting new energies and resolve from them.
Thank you!
I admire you trudging through those wilderness areas especially Texas. I hope you educate those populations but am sorry you can’t include Buffalo NY in your itinerary.
I’m studying On Freedom whole trudging through Black Earth with Bloodlands next.
Enjoy! Enjoy!
