A little fundraiser for the Harris campaign
Help me get back in shape and help the Harris campaign!
This is a photo of me with my friend and running partner, Njeri Thande. We are at the end of a New Haven half-marathon (which we ran together as the "Anti-Fascist Express" relay team).
We used to run races together pretty regularly. Here was the pattern: I would pick Njeri up, then I would get us lost on the way to the race, then Njeri would figure this out. We would get to the site at the last moment, warm up by sprinting to the registration table, and do fine.
Those were the good old days! A year ago I blew out my knee, and have been in rehab. I can now jog. Njeri has also been hurt, and is starting to run again.
We have a plan.
On September 22nd Njeri and I are going to meet again in New England to run a half-marathon on hilly trails. It will be my first race in well over a year, and I believe hers as well. We will each run the 13.1 miles. I will post a photo of us together at the end.
On one condition, that is...
This half-marathon is a friendly challenge between Njeri and me.
But I also want to make it a friendly challenge to you.
As we get back in shape to run those 13.1 miles, we want to raise $13,100 for the Kamala Harris campaign — between now and the date of the race.

I will let you know how the fundraiser is going. I do want you to know that I can’t make this an absolute commitment, since I do get injured from time to time. But I trust that all of you who donate will be doing so for higher reasons as well!
