Dear Friends,
My new book, On Freedom, will be published in two weeks, on September 17th. On November 5th, the American elections will be held.
I have decided to spend much of the time between in Ohio. It is where I am from; it is where the first chapter of book begins; and it is where I want to go to speak about freedom.
I wanted to give you, my subscribers, early notice of these seven October Ohio events (and of three that follow, in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Texas).
But share this information with anyone you like, and please join me to talk about freedom!

I am particularly happy about this discussion of On Freedom. The event is a ticketed benefit for Merefa, Ukraine, which is Wilmington's sister city. Books will be sold and proceeds will also benefit Merefa.

I see that this stretch of my book tour begins on an Ohio Madison Road, named after the founder James Madison, and ends on a Texas Lover's Lane -- well, one of themes of On Freedom is unpredictability. It's a privilege for me that I can make this journey, and I hope to meet many of you along the way.
If my memory is correct, Dr. Snyder was ringing doorbells and talking with folks in Ohio before the 2016 election; I'm glad he'll be visiting his home state this fall. Now I have to secure a couple of tickets for the event in Chicago after which I'll book a plane ticket and let my son and daughter-in-law that I'll be visiting for a few days. Of course I've already ordered my copy of "On Freedom", and I'm looking forward to its arrival this month.
Best wishes for a successful book tour 👏🏻
Meanwhile, in Tallahassee …
On Saturday, members of the Texas-based white supremacist and neo-fascist hate group Patriot Front were spotted in Florida's capital city. The 20-or-so men were dressed in khakis and wearing white balaclavas covering their faces while toting their hate group's flag and the Confederate flag.

"They can report back to their Trump-supporting founder that Tallahassee is a great town that represents a great state, and their ideas have no place here," State Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell said.
